In the morning
Open the curtains
Let the light
Fill my room
From inside
Peer outside
Past plains and trees
Across mountains and lakes
The sun centers
Blinding sight
Wincing towards the bathroom
Dreading morning rituals
Look out the window
Once more
Seeing only
An empty room
